What we clear

Vehicles, industrial cargo and bonded stock are our specialities.

And whatever else is coming in, we have done it before — from a single barrel to a forty-foot container of parts. Every entry classified line by line, costed before it is paid, and lodged the day the documents are complete.

Vehicles

Our speciality. New and used cars, trucks, buses, bikes and heavy equipment, by the unit or by the shipload for dealers. The valuation, the concessions that apply (electric and hybrid included) and the paperwork the licensing office wants.

Industrial and commercial cargo

Machinery, plant, building materials, equipment and project cargo; full containers and LCL by sea, air freight through the airport sheds. The entry, the duties and VAT, release and delivery coordinated with the Port or the airline.

Warehouse management

We run the bonded warehouse for dealers and distributors: stock entered to bond, drawn down as you sell it, ex-bond entries by C number, and the register kept straight and reconciled with Customs.

Parts and spares

Dealers and workshops: invoices with hundreds of lines, each part coded consistently every time, so your duty is right and your entry is not held up.

Personal effects and barrels

Barrels, household goods and gifts for families; returning nationals' effects with the concessions you may qualify for. We tell you what to expect before the vessel docks.

Exports and re-exports

Export entries, CARICOM certificates of origin, re-exports and returned goods, and the shippers' declarations that go with them.

Duty-free and exemption letters

Sporting goods, agriculture, charities, renewable energy, security equipment, computers and more: we prepare the letters Customs asks for, with the entry.

Permits and certificates

Plant quarantine, veterinary, Ministry of Health, dangerous goods declarations: filled in alongside the entry so nothing waits on a form.

How it works

Three steps, and you know the cost before anything is paid.

1

Send us the documents

The bill of lading or air waybill, the invoice and the packing list. Email them or WhatsApp photos; a supplier's quote is enough for an estimate before you buy.

2

We classify and cost it

Every line gets its tariff code. You get the duty, VAT and any levy, and an estimate of the Port's charges, in writing, before the entry is lodged. No surprises at the gate.

3

We lodge, pay and release

The entry goes into ASYCUDA, the duties are paid, and we handle examination and release with the Port or the airline shed. Then we arrange delivery, or you collect.

What to send us

The documents that get your entry moving.

Photos from your phone are fine. If something is missing, we tell you exactly what.

  • Commercial invoice(s) showing what was paid, and the freight if it was paid separately
  • Packing list, where there is one

Questions we are asked

Straight answers.

How long does a clearance take?

We lodge the entry the day we have the complete documents and your authorisation. Release then depends on Customs' selection and the Port: goods cleared without examination are usually released the same or the next working day; an examination adds time we cannot control, but we will be there for it.

What will the duties come to?

It depends on the goods. Import duty is charged on the CIF value (what you paid plus freight and insurance); VAT of 17.5% is charged on top of the duty-paid value; some goods carry excise or an environmental levy as well. Send us the invoice, or even the supplier's quote, and we will tell you the figure in writing.

Can you tell me the cost before I buy?

Yes. Send the quote or the listing and we will work out the tariff code, the duty and taxes and the likely Port charges, so you know the landed cost before you pay the supplier.

Do I pay storage at the Port?

The Port gives five free working days after the vessel arrives; after that storage is charged per tonne per day. We tell you the last free day on every shipment and work to have it out before then.

What is a C60?

It is Customs' authorisation form: your signature letting Codgie's act as your broker. You sign it once and we keep it on file for your entries.

Do you clear vehicles bought abroad?

Yes, from Japan, the USA, the UK and elsewhere: new and used cars, trucks, motorcycles and equipment. We handle the valuation, the concessions that apply, and the documents the licensing office needs afterwards.

Where are you?
